We are not fooling when we say April was incredible. We saw some classic launches and spectacular collaborations this month. April is all about Nike Dunk Low, the return of Nike Kobe Proto 8, collaborations between Clog x Adidas and New Balance x Joe Freshgoods, and Air Jordan 5 SE “Sail”. 

1. Nike Dunk Low “Veneer”

The wait is finally over. Media was all around talking about Nike’s Dunk Low “Veneer” which was set to be on the shelf for a long time. On 11th April sneakers are released on Nike’s official site and selected retailers at $115. 

The pair was released in 2001 as part of CO JP’s “Ugly Duckling Pack” which is now released this summer. It came out in 3 colours Plum, Veneer and Ceramic. Thus, the entire Ugly Duckling Launch is coming. 

The design is all retro staying true to its original version, the colorway in this sneaker includes plum, Vener, Deep Plum, and Autumn Green. The upper is made of pigskin and a modern mesh tongue. The only difference is the mesh features a lace hold in the middle.

2. Clog x Adidas Superstar 

This collaboration is like “You Name It We Make It”. Clog x Adidas Superstar is proof of redefining fashion with sneakers. Clog founded by Edison Chen in 2003 collaborates with Adidas to design Black/White sneakers through their commitment to innovation and culture. 

The classic Adidas Originals Superstar design with black leather upper and white stripes. The design is enhanced with lace tassels and a perforated black tab to give a modern twist. The midsole of these sneakers is all black and the outsole is made of rubber. 

This pair of sneakers was released on 12th April at $200. These sneakers are available in men’s size at Juice stores, selected retailers, Adidas website, and Adidas Confirmed.

2. Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 1000 “When Things Were Pure” 

The most awaited collaboration of 2024 is Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 1000 have launched in two colorways. The two colors “Pink Mink” and “Black Ice” with special co-branding and detailing throughout the shoes. 

New Balance was about to reintroduce 1000 and they collaborated with Jor Freshgoods. Freshgoods collaborations with New Balance have always told a story. For example, their debut collaboration 2020’s 992 “No Emotions are Emotions” shared the concept of letting you speak for you. In 2021 990v3 “Outside Clothes” was inspired by summertime in Chicago and Black Cultural traditions. But this collection doesn’t tell a story. 

These sneakers are available on Joe Freshgood’s and New Balance’s website at $170.

4. Nike Kobe 8 Proto “Venice Beach”

The return of extraordinary sneakers The Nike Kobe 8 Proto “Venice Beach” is back after its release in 2013. This pair was launched on 13th April at the price of $190. 

Kobe’s signature line has always been in talk among sneaker lovers. This particular “Venice Beach” has multi-color mesh and unique patterns inspired by Venice Beach known for skateboarding and street basketball. It has a grey base with blue, yellow, red, and green mix. 

The color combination does not end here. The laces have a yellow color, orange inner lining, and aqua heel. You do not want to miss Kobe’s signature and Mamba logo at the heel and tongue respectively.

5. Air Jordan 5 SE “Sail” 

Air Jordan 5 SE “Sail” in “Coconut Milk” and “Light Orewood Brown” colorway is out on 13th April at the price of $210. 

Diving into the Air Jordan 5 SE “Sail” the shoe is made with soft suede at the upper. Across the body, there are cuts of mesh and rubber throughout. All the colors compliment each other perfectly and the Jumpman logo is eye-catching on the sneakers.
