My Favorite Collectibles: Hannah’s Top 5

Toki team member Hannah talks about her love for Star Wars, travel and Funko Pop collectibles

‘The Force’ has always been strong with Hannah Elisha G.Giron-Sy, the Funko Category Manager at TOKI, who’s had a knack for collecting stuff since she was a kid – from stickers and stationary to teks cards and even K-Pop merch. “I’ve been exploring galaxies far, far away for 29 years and been bounty (toy) hunting since 2013.”

Hannah’s earliest memory of collecting was when she was given a Bead Blast Barbie on her birthday. “I had never owned anything ‘premium’ at that age so I took really good care of it and made sure to put it back in the box every time I played with it. That was until my little sister came along!,” she says.

Hannah’s ‘serious’ collecting mode kicked in when she landed her first job, and while she does cross collecting with Gundam, Nendoroid, Designer Toys, Loungefly Bags and Tokidoki, she truly believes in the ‘fun’ in Funko Pops. Some day, it’s Hannah’s dream to own the loki life-sized Bust by Queen Studios.

For now, there are some other pieces in her collection that she cherishes:

1.  Ariel and Pooh Funko Minis

My husband and I always bring these 2 together to represent us when we travel. Ariel represents me and Pooh represents him.

2. Adult Trooper and Baby Trooper

These 2 started my love for toy photography. I’ve been doing photo walks with them as I enjoy the cool spots and scenery around Metro Manila.

3. Stormtrooper Helmet

A 501st grade helmet which I truly treasure. One of the most expensive pieces from my collection. I’ve even dreamt of being part of the group but I’ve been told I’m too short to be a trooper!

4. Mighty Jaxx Happy Ending Under the Sea

My first statue given to me by my then boyfriend, now husband. Such a beautiful piece with crisp details.

5. Gundam Deathscythe Hell

This has been my favorite mobile suit since it was first aired in the Philippines. With its badass look and aggressive pilot, Duo Maxwell – this figure is a blast from the past, bringing back so many amazing childhood memories!

For Hannah, collecting is about enjoying the journey, one that she gets to continue in her new role at TOKI. “I always tell new collectors to buy whatever sparks joy. Get to know the people in the community, you never know, your future partner could be just around the corner!” Join Hannah and a whole host of passionate collectors like her on Toki!
